• CHRISTMAS SERIES - LESSONS FROM THE ANNUNCIATION OF CHRIST’S BIRTH - PART #3 ““THE GOD OF THE IMPOSS

    CHRISTMAS SERIES

“LESSONS FROM THE ANNUNCIATION OF CHRIST’S BIRTH”

    PART THREE

    LUKE 1:26-28

    “THE GOD OF THE IMPOSSIBLE”

    LUKE 1:34-37

INTRO: Review from previous weeks. Coming into the passage before us, Gabriel had just told Mary two things that would be impossible from the human point of view:

    • That she was going to have a baby apart from human conception – Vs. 35
    • That her cousin Elisabeth was going to have a baby in old age – Vs. 36

Obviously, this must have brought a high level of amazement upon Mary and Gabriel knew it for he said: “FOR WITH GOD, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE.”  It is apparent that Mary believed Gabriel’s words. DO WE?

    NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD…NOTHING!

  • CHRISTMAS SERIES - LESSONS FROM THE ANNUNCIATION OF CHRIST’S BIRTH - PART #2 “A SAVIOR TO BE WORSHIP

    CHRISTMAS SERIES

“LESSONS FROM THE ANNUNCIATION OF CHRIST’S BIRTH”

    LUKE 1:26-38

    PART TWO

    “A SAVIOR TO BE WORSHIPPED”

    LUKE 1:31-33

INTRO: Last week when we began our CHRISTMAS SERIES entitled: “LESSONS FROM THE ANNUNCIATION OF CHRIST’S BIRTH,” from Luke 1:26-38, we studied that because of WHO GOD IS, as believers in Christ, THERE IS NO NEED TO FEAR. Today as we continue the series, we will note that in Christ THERE IS A SAVIOR TO BE WORSHIPPED.

A SERIOUS OBSERVATION: The Christmas Season should be one of true PRAISE AND WORSHIP to God. But all too often, even as believers, we get lost in the shuffle of SEASONAL ACTIVITY, to the point that the GREATNESS OF OUR SAVIOR is lost in the details. THAT MUST BREAK THE HEART OF OUR SAVIOR! IN JESUS CHRIST, WE HAVE A SAVIOR TO BE WORSHIPPED, AND THIS SEASON OF THE YEAR, ALONG WITH THE “RESURRECTION SEASON,” IS THE TIME WHEN OUR WORSHIP OF HIM SHOULD BE AT A PEAK! HOW IS IT IN YOUR LIFE TODAY?

    CHRISTMAS SERIES

“LESSONS FROM THE ANNUNCIATION OF CHRIST’S BIRTH”

    LUKE 1:26-38

    PART ONE

    “NO NEED TO FEAR”

    LUKE 1:26-30

INTRO:  During this time of the year, those of us who attend church hear messages on the BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST. And, if you are like me, you never tire of hearing of the MIRACLE OF THE INCARNATION.  However, the interesting thing is that TUCKED IN THE CONTEXT OF THE ACCOUNT OF THE BIRTH OF CHRIST ARE MANY LESSONS THAT WE CAN LEARN FOR OUR CHRISTIAN LIVING TODAY.  So, this year, our CHRISTMAS SERIES is going to focus on the LESSONS WE CAN LEARN FROM THE ANNOUNCMENT OF THE BIRTH OF CHRIST.  All of these lessons are found in one passage…LUKE 1:26-38. Today the message title is “NO NEED TO FEAR.”

  • BEING A THANKFUL PERSON

    “BEING A THANKFUL PERSON”
    PSALM 100:1-5

INTRO: Among all of the people on the face of the earth, CHRISTIANS SHOULD BE THE MOST THANKFUL! WHY?
    ● Because we have the forgiveness of all of our sins.
    ● Because we have the power to live in the circumstances of life.
    ● Because we have the assurance of Heaven.
    ● Because we have a relationship with the God of God and King of Kings.
    ● Because we have the knowledge that the best is yet to come.

  • UNDERSTANDING THE CHRISTIAN LIFE IN RELATION TO THE HOLY SPIRIT

“UNDERSTANDING THE CHRISTIAN LIFE IN RELATION TO THE HOLY SPIRIT”
    JOHN 16:7-17

INTRO: In understanding the CHRISTIAN LIFE, it is important to recognize that a person MUST BE RIGHTLY RELATED TO JESUS CHRIST. 1 Corinthians 6:11 says that believers are “WASHED, SANCTIFIED AND JUSTIFIED IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS.” CHRISTIANITY BEGINS WITH A RIGHT RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST:
    ● Recognize that you are a born sinner – Romans 3:23
    ● Recognize that as a sinner you are separated from God – Romans 6:23a
    ● Recognize that you NEED God’s gift of Salvation – Romans 6:23b
    ● Recognize that JESUS is the ONLY SAVIOR – Acts 4:12
    ● Recognize that you MUST TRUST Christ alone as Savior – Galatians 3:24
But 1 Corinthians 6:11 goes on to say, “BY THE SPIRIT OF OUR GOD.” Without the ministry of the Holy Spirit, we could NOT HAVE A RIGHT RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST. Therefore, if we are going to have a PROPER UNDERSTANDING OF THE CHRISTIAN LIFE, it is significant for us to have an UNDERSTANDING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.

  • A FOCUS ON TRUE REVIVAL

    “A FOCUS ON TRUE REVIVAL”
    PSALM 85:1-7

INTRO: Next week we are planning to have a week of REVIVAL MEETINGS. The purpose of such meetings is not necessarily to see people come to Christ, but rather to SEE CHRISTIANS GET “CHARGED UP” IN THEIR PERSONAL WALK WITH THE LORD.
OBSERVATION: God has used REVIVAL MEETINGS down through the years to awaken individuals, churches and communities.
NOTE: In Psalm 85, we have a description of the Jews who returned back to Jerusalem after the BABYLONIAN CAPTIVITY. Though they were thankful for the restoration to their home land, they were disappointed as what they saw did not measure up to the “pre-captivity” situation in Jerusalem. So, they were asking God to REVIVE THEM AGAIN.

  • UNDERSTANDING THE CHRISTIAN LIFE

    "UNDERSTANDING THE CHRISTIAN LIFE"
    1 CORINTHIANS 6:1-20

INTRO: There is a problem that persists within the realm of Christianity that has existed since the BIRTH OF THE CHURCH in Acts 2. And that is the fact that many, if not most Christians DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE CHRISTIAN LIFE.
They know that they are SAVED FROM SIN AND HELL and ARE BOUND FOR HEAVEN, but many of the elements of their CHRISTIAN LIFE they fail to understand. That results in DEFEATED CHRISTIAN LIVING! Let's examine the scriptures to see what it says about the REALITY OF THE CHRISTIAN LIFE.
OBSERVATION: In 1 Corinthians 6 there are FIVE "KNOW YE NOTS" that every believer should digest.
    1) "KNOW YE NOT" that we should not take our Brothers and sisters to a Court of Law - Vss. 1-7
    2) "KNOW YE NOT" that the Unrighteous (Unsaved) will not Inherit the Kingdom of God Vss. 9,10
    3) "KNOW YE NOT" that our Body belongs to Christ - Vs. 15
    4) "KNOW YE NOT" that illicit sex creates a union of one Body - Vs. 16
    5) "KNOW YE NOT" that our Body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit - Vss. 19,20

  • THE TRUE CHRISTIAN WALK

    "THE TRUE CHRISTIAN WALK"
    EPHESIANS 4:1-5:17

INTRO: If you were to receive an evaluation FROM GOD concerning your PERSONAL CHRISTIAN
LIFE today, WHAT WOULD IT BE LIKE? The scripture is very clear that each of us as believers are to
    reflect Christ in our daily living. (Philippians 1:27; 1 Thessalonians 4:12; 1 Timothy 3:7; 2 Peter 3:11).
BUT DO WE DO SO? Simple Observation and Significant Research reveals that a huge percentage of
Christianity often reflects more of the WORLD rather than the LORD.
    ● Simple Observation: Language, Dress, Culture, Attitudes, Actions
    ● Significant Research: "Christianity Today." George Barna Research
-The Lord Jesus teaches in Matthew 5:13-16 that Christians are to be the Salt of the Earth and the Light of
    the World....BUT ARE WE?
-The Apostle Paul teaches in 2 Corinthians 5:20 that Christians are to be Ambassadors for Christ...BUT
    ARE WE?
-The Epistle of Jude 3 teaches that Christians are to Earnestly Contend for the Faith...BUT DO WE?

  • MORE THAN CONQUERORS THROUGH CHRIST

    "MORE THAN CONQUERORS THROUGH CHRIST"
    ROMANS 8:37

INTRO: Many of us as Christians FAIL TO TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION what all we have in Christ. The reality is that we have so many blessings through Christ that we could no doubt ever be able to count them. 1 John 5:4 says: "FOR WHATSOEVER IS BORN OF GOD OVERCOMETH THE WORLD." That statement in and of itself carries a lot of SPIRITUAL GOLDEN NUGGETS. Today we are going to talk about the fact that THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST, WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERERS.
    DEFINITIONS:
    1) CONQUOR - "To gain a victory over; to win a war; to be victorious."
    2) CONQUEROR - "A person who conquers or vanquishes."
    3) CONQUEROR IN GREEK TEXT: "To vanquish beyond; to gain a decisive victory.
NOTE: In essence to be MORE THAN A CONQUEROR means that in the spiritual battles we face as Christians on earth we have the POTENTIAL TO NEVER LOSE. And, ultimately for eternity, we are SURELY CONQUERORS OVER SIN AND DEATH.

  • FIGHTING OUR SPIRITUAL WARFARE VICTORIOUSLY

    "FIGHTING OUR SPIRITUAL WARFARE VICTORIOUSLY"
    2 CORINTHIANS 10:1-6

INTRO: ARE YOU AWARE OF THE SPIRITUAL BATTLE YOU FACE DAY BY DAY AS A CHRISTIAN? MANY CHRISTIANS ARE NOT! AND YET OUR SPIRITUAL BATTLE IS AS REAL AS LIFE ITSELF. As a Christian, EVERYTHING YOU DO IS A SPIRITUAL MATTER because YOU ARE ALIVE SPIRITUALLY through Faith in Jesus Christ. And thus every moment of every day every Christian is in a SPIRITUAL BATTLE.
    ● The Spiritual Battle with Self
    ● The Spiritual Battle at Home
    ● The Spiritual Battle at Work
    ● The Spiritual Battle at School
    ● The Spiritual Battle Right Now
Satan himself is the NUMBER ONE OBJECT behind our Spiritual Battles and is out to destroy us. Thus it is very significant that each of us know how to RECOGNIZE AND FIGHT OUR SPIRITUAL WARFARE VICTORIOUSLY.
