    Ministry of Music

In June of 2001, the Lord led Faith Baptist Church of Altoona, Pennsylvania to purchase a set of 3-octave bells. The Lord then led approximately 15 individuals to get involved in this ministry and the Lord has blessed ever since. We have taken these instruments to use them as an extended ministry from our church to lead souls to Jesus Christ, strengthen believers, and to praise His name. This is why we have chosen Psalm 28:7 as our group verse because it says that He is our strength and our shield “...and with my song will I praise Him.” In our presentation, we want there to be no question what we are all about and why we are a part of this ministry.

Who is the Faith Carillons? We are a 3-Octave handbell choir (C4-C7) using Schulmerich Bells.

How many people make up the handbell choir?
We have 11 ringers and 4 substitutes.

What kind of music do you play?  We play all kinds of Christian music. We play songs such as Softly and Tenderly,
I’ll Fly Away, Christ Arose, It is Well With My Soul, and many more.

Do you only play in churches?  No, we played in places such as Old Bedford Village , The Logan Valley Mall, and Lakemont Park .

What is your busiest time of the year?  Our busiest time is Christmas. You haven’t heard a Christmas song until you have heard it played on the bells. We play songs such as The First Noel, Do You Hear What I Hear, What Child Is This and many others. We even include traditional songs such as Silver Bells, Jingle Bells, and others.
